the two of us

January 11, 2011 was the day Steve and I met in Biology Lab at approximately 10:00 A.M. We may not have the most romantic setting for a first meet and greet, but for us it would eventually prove to be life changing.

I luckily ended up sitting at his table and in the course of time, measured his arm span.  We talked here and there throughout class and that was that. However, to my surprise, the next day in class he asked me for my number and suggested we finish our lab assignment together. I agreed. So we did.

Later that night we went and got ice cream at Dairy Queen and just talked. Throughout the next two weeks, he asked me to hang out a few times but things would come up and it wouldn't work out. But thanks to his persistence, we finally found a day that would work. So on a Monday, (yes, I'm that annoyingly precise.) we went to the Stake Center and played basketball, just the two of us. Things went well and after that day we were inseparable. It quickly went from "what should 'I' do tonight to what should 'we' do tonight. Within one month, we started talking about marriage. We both knew we had found our other half and the spirit confirmed to each of us the truth and right of this path.

He proposed on March 25, 2011. (I said yes.) And we were married on June 3, 2011 in the Manti LDS temple.

I know many people think our wedding was too rushed, "Why not wait a little longer? You have your whole life to be married," they would say. At times i'll admit I would think the same thing. But the often heard clique would come to mind, "When you know, you know." Besides, if there's one thing I have learned from all of this, (besides about a million other things) it's that we are on the Lord's time, and the Lord's time is just right.
